-Some of you may have noticed:- -My Scrobbler plugin stopped working, due to audioscrobbler shutting down the old rdf protocol.- -I have just applied the new protocol to the plugin in order to fix it.- -It is already working. I’ll do some minor cleaning up and release it later today. Right now it’s time for bed. Good Night everyone…-
After the plugin stopped working I decided to not only fix the protocol but do some more cleanup. The plugin now also shows a loading-icon so you can see it working, even if audioscrobbler returns nothing, or takes some time. I also decided for a new name. I dubbed it “muScrobbler” as in “multi-user-scrobbler”. You can get it from my plug-ins pages. All Blogs hosted on bitshifters.net have already been updated with the new plug-in. Thanks.

WordPress Galeria released

Today I have uploaded my Gallery plugin “WordPress Galeria”. I consider it a beta release because it’s missing an important feature to manage single pictures. However Gallery display and all management and configuration options are fully working. Please test it and give me some feedback at the WordPress.de Forums.

Ein Freund hat mich überredet wieder an Galeria zu arbeiten – meinem Wordpress Gallery plugin. Zur Zeit geht es auch sehr gut vorran. Ich versuche bis Sonntag die 0.9′er als open beta-test zu releasen.

Day of the Tentacle 2

Most of you Guys know that I’m working as a translator for the Tram-Team creating the fan-adventure Day of the Tentacle2 (Dott2). Well I’ve just gotten hold of the dialogues and I’m quite impressed. These things are well written and extremely funny.
Of course I’ve like signed an NDA so I can’t tell you more about it. But judging by the X-Mas calendar that is currently on their webpage, you can see they are progressing well.

You should all go and pay them a visit!

Bitboard3

Bitboard3 project was iced for a while, I started looking at the code that I already had yesterday, and found it to be extremely unusable. I initially wanted to use an xml based layout. Theoretically, this allows for extremely nice theming, but is just too unpractical.
I’m starting this from scratch, and I don’t even know If I want to use the object-oriented concept again, as I don’t know how that affects the speed of the script. I want this one to be faster but more open, so I can easily add features as requested.
I’m also going to start a thing I call “Pinboard”, this will be a back to the roots version of bitboard but stripped off all features that are not needed. Pinboard will feature on communication – and communication only. I’m going to use this to get into BB3 again. Let’s see how it works out.

It’s been some time now, and I haven’t had much time to post here. I’ve started my practical semester, and it’s quite fun – but time consuming. Starting at 0900 – 1800, a nice time for getting up, but when you get home you won’t do jack.
So I’m at work now but have nothing to do. I’m still waiting for a clients ftp data to start installing a in-house Content Management System and get to work.
I’ve noticed an increased amount of coffee that I’m consuming around here. But, that’s nothing I’m worrying about. So, wheres my coffee…

Galeria Status

I’m nearly done, just finished testing “Deploy Zip Archive” function – and it works. The last bits that need doing are the Browser, the “Write Post/Page” Integration and the Configuration toolset. When this gets through it should become the next best Wordpress Gallery – Photoblog solution. At least I hope so. When I’m on version 0.7 and did some cleanup, I’m going to announce it. Let’s see if we can get some exposure.

Galeria – wohey!

I’m nearing completition of my promised gallery script. I’ve managed to create the management tools, and you can, as of now, create galleries and change the information files. I’m planning to make the plugin be able to deploy zipped archives to ease uploading multiple images at once. For this to work, I’m interfacing the plugin with PclZip which will have to be downloaded seperately by the end-users to not interfere with the LGPL.
The more I find myself finishing on the plugin the more I like it. I hope there will be an audience for this. I’m gonna use it. For sure. I have yet to see a gallery tool that is as easy to administrate as Galeria.

In an earlier post, I wrote that I’m working on a gallery script for WordPress. It’s going fairly well – The gallery is working. What needs doing now is the management tools. After tinkering a bit with the Wordpress Plugin API – and seeing how powerful it is, I have decided to put the tools into the Management menu of the wordpress administration panel. A Userlevel of 3 should be sufficient.
